When it comes to improving your health, small steps can lead to big results.

You don’t need to overhaul your entire diet overnight. Add a few intentional changes that could make a noticeable difference in how you feel, look, and function every day.

Here are five simple nutrition changes that can have a powerful impact on your overall health

1. Start Your Day with Protein

Majority of people start their mornings with quick carbs like cereal, toast, or bagels, which can spike blood sugar and lead to energy crashes. Try swapping that out for a high-protein breakfast - Eggs, Greek yogurt, or smoothies with protein powder. Protein helps stabilize blood sugar, keeps you full longer, and supports muscle maintenance.

2. Drink More Water

Staying hydrated not only helps digestion, but it helps with energy, and clear skin! Try to drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water each day, about a gallon ;)
Carry your emotional support water bottle, add lemon, cucumber, or berries if you need a little flavor boost. It’s a small habit that can lead to big improvements results.

3. Add More Color to Your Plate

A colorful plate is always so pretty! It also means a variety of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants have joined the party. Include at least two different vegetables with lunch and dinner. Think about leafy greens, bell peppers, carrots, or sweet potatoes. These nutrients support everything from your immune system to your skin and digestion.

4. Swap Out Processed Snacks

Listen... These quick processed snacks are sometimes elite. However, instead of reaching for chips or cookies, let's try to have whole-food snacks that offer more nutrition and have less sugar. Try things like apple slices with almond butter, a handful of nuts, boiled eggs, or veggies with hummus. You’ll feel more satisfied and energized between meals.

5. Limit Added Sugars

Sugar hides in many foods, even ones marketed as “healthy.” Take a look at food labels and try to keep added sugars to a minimum. My rule of thumb is always to keep it below 20%. Choose plain yogurt over flavored ones, and flavor your own oatmeal or drinks naturally with fruit or cinnamon. Reducing sugar helps balance your mood, energy, acne, and weight.

Needless to say, you don’t need to be perfect to make progress. Perfection will only lead to burnout -  trust me, I'm an expert! Start small, stay consistent. Over time, these simple shifts can lead to lasting results.
